Hi, I'm Ariel - pronounced "R.E.L."
(No, not named after the mermaid. She came three months after me,
so technically it's the other way around.)
I started in this industry at 14, sweeping floors and washing towels as the designated cleaning girl at my first salon job. By 17, I wasn't ready to commit to a college major, and Paul Mitchell The School had just opened in my hometown — so I figured I'd start there while I sorted the rest out.
Turned out I was good at it. And I loved it.
Funny enough, I went on to earn two Associate degrees in Mathematics. But somehow, even with all those equations, I never left the beauty industry. I consider myself lucky for that — not many people get to genuinely love what they do every single day.
I've never been totally comfortable with the word "specialize." What draws me to hair, again and again, is how vast and ever-evolving this industry is. There's always something new to learn, and being a lifelong student is one of my favorite parts of the job. Continuing my education isn't a box to check — it's what keeps me inspired, year after year.
So rather than narrowing in on one niche, I've chosen to stay well-rounded. That means I can help you explore all of your options, not just the ones inside my specialty. My job is to educate you, problem-solve with you, and help you make informed decisions about your hair. And if there's ever a moment where a true specialist would serve you better, I'll be the first to point you in the right direction.
